Dr. Richard W. Barraclough received an M. Sci. in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham in 2001, and a Ph. D. in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham in 2005. He was a research fellow in the Department of Mathematics at Queen Mary College (University of London) from 2004 to 2006. In 2006 Richard joined the Department of Computing at Goldsmiths’ College (University of London) to work on the KTP spend analysis project with @UK plc. In 2009 Richard joined @UK plc as the Head of Spend Analysis.
Richard’s research interests include computational representation theory where he has been primarily interested in the Monster group, and theoretical computer science where he works on static program analysis. Richard continues to publish original research in both of these areas.
Richard's main contribution to the spend analysis system is in the product and company matching technology. His background in high performance computing in mathematics was an advantage here, and he made the main breakthroughs after attending the ccgrid08 academic conference.
