Reports examined by Public Accounts Committee

Yesterday the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee examined the National Audit Office report The Procurement of consumables by NHS acute and Foundation trusts which was supported by data analysis provided by @UK plc SpendInsight. The meeting is available to watch online.

The PAC examines reports produced by the Comptroller and Auditor General (who is the head of the NAO) on his value for money studies of the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which government departments and other bodies have used their resources.

The report on the VFM study, The Procurement of consumables by NHS acute and Foundation trusts, identifies savings of £500m that NHS trusts could make by managing their procurement activity more effectively. @UK plc provided the analysis services to the National Audit Office to assist them in the preparation of this report.
