'It's really useful because we can look at the information from all different angles and it's so easy to use,' says Ms Hamilton. 'It will help us rationalise and standardise our suppliers and products, which in turn means we can get better prices.'

London Procurement Programme is the purchasing umbrella organisation for the 71 NHS trusts in London

LPP works with trusts to make the most of the purchasing power of the NHS in London to maximise investment in patient care - helping deliver the highest quality services while at the same time ensuring value for money.

Now, more than ever before, it is vital that every penny of NHS spending is spent wisely to retain, redesign and improve health care. Across the City, trusts spend around £5.5bn on goods and services with external suppliers – that’s approaching a fifth of the total NHS spending across England and Wales.

Our team encourages collaboration among London's 71 trusts and is integral to the delivery of the Healthcare for London programme. We are committed to helping trusts achieve their objectives and to enabling innovation, increased efficiency, improved patient outcomes and reduced clinical risk.

LPP helped with taking SpendInsight to market, but firstly testing SpendInsight with the OSEL trusts, and having proven that it worked and was able to analyse the complex data from multiple trusts.  Then both rolling SpendInsight out across all the LPP member trusts, and enhancing the front end to that it matched the trusts requirements through a 1 year process of feedback and improvement.

@UK PLC would like to thank LPP for the joint work on ensuring that SpendInsight met the needs of LPP member trusts.

There is more information on SpendInsight on the LPP website, and a sample report.
