SpendInsight technology is being used by the NHS Sustainable Development Unit to enhance the detail of their Carbon Footprint of the NHS in England, which is already the largest such study in any organisation in the World.

Around 60% of the carbon footprint of the NHS in England is attributable to the goods and services bought by trusts. The project with SpendInsight, NHS Goods & Services Carbon Footprint, will examine this 60% in more detail by using procurement data from trusts to identiry the goods and services being bought.

In return for participating in the project, trusts will receive a customised summary report highlighting the carbon hotspots in the trust.
